Quick Tip by Melin

Creative Cutter Melin has a Great Project to share with you today-her layouts are always amazing so I can't wait to try out her tip.  Be sure and stop by her site for more great projects and inspiration.
 Good morning Crafters,
This is DT member, Melin.
Here is a Quick Tip  Project.
I created this layout using Nate’s ABC Cartridge.
My tip is: I used only one sheet of “Yellow” cardstock to complete this layout. I did this by “cutting out” the inside of the yellow to create a “frame”.
This is a great option when you have only 1 piece of cardstock of a particular color to work with.

The way to do this :
STEP 1
Using your cutter, line your paper up to the 11” inch mark.
STEP 2
Be sure to start your cut or blade at 1”
Once you have done this, turn your paper a quarter turn and repeat three more times. Once this is completed, your “center” piece will come out. You will have a 12 x 12 frame with a 1” thickness. Conversely, you will have a 10 x 10’ piece of yellow left over.
Here is a shot of what the completed layout looks like in the back. Again, this is a great alternative when you only have one piece of a particular color cardstock and you need to stretch it out. Please note: this doesn’t work out quite as well if you are using “thinner” grade paper. The cardstock I used in this project was Bazzill.
Here is the layout again

This layout also fits in with our challenge going on at my blog. It is the last day of our Time to Spring Forward challenge. There is still time to join us! Click HERE!
Have a wonderful day!

Great idea. This also cuts down on all the wasted paper if you are only making a border around everything. Thanks for the tip.
