Talk Time Tuesday: Adding Depth to your letters

Today's Talk Time Tuesday is a wonderful tip from Creative Cutter Gaby.  Click on her name to check out her blog for even more wonderful ideas & inspiration.  Leave a comment on this post and be entered for a chance to win a Basic Grey clear stamp set of flourishes.

Welcome to another Tip Tuesday here at Creative Cutter Room

This is Gaby with a little tip on how to give the letters of your title or any cut a little bit more depth.  Or if you are just like me and do not like white edges most of the time....

This is a plain letter (you can see I have already been doodling around on my inking mat).

I take a plain brown marker (your kids might already have a crayola one) and trace around.

Another option is to hold it with one hand on the air and go around it with your other hand.

Here is a title using this technique.

And here is another title with a fun design all using the trace around with the marker technique.

Hope you enjoy.

Waiting for my machines

So when I was in Ketchikan Alaska-I mailed my Cricut Machine's back home since I was done teaching classes and did not want to carry them off the ship and worry about going through customs with them in Canada.

I easily found a post office and got them packed and shipped-when the postal worker completed all of the paper work she tells me: "Ok you should receive your packages in 4-6 weeks!"  What!!!! I am still without my Cricut Expressions and on week two of being back I MISS THEM SOOOOOOO MUCH!

So please forgive me for not posting anything new-I am missing my babies.  I am creating some things on my Gypsy(thank goodness for this little portable wonder) and can't wait to start cutting.  I am waiting on my new E2 so maybe that will be here before my other machines.  In any case I thought I would share a picture of one of the card projects we made on the cruise.  We used the Gypsy wanderings pre-loaded cartridge and made this Butterfly Easel Card that we welded together.

Time to get rid of all that Scrap pattern paper!

Hi this is Carri from DoubleClick! Since Cathie with the Creative Cutter Room is on her Creative Cutter Alaskan Adventure I thought I would pop on over and share a quick tip  with you!

I have lots of pattern paper scraps:

Since I make cards 99% of the time, I cut my pattern paper scraps to the size of my two top card layers for a size A2 card.

First layer is cut at 5 1/4 X 4:

Second layer is cut at 5 X 3 3/4:

Then I match colors together, use a border punch, add string, round the corners and adhere them together:

Then when I am ready to make a card I just pick a card base and I am ready to go!

You can also use this technique on a lay-out when making  photo mats!

Hope you enjoyed this quick tip!

Let's Set Sail Creative Cutter Alaskan Adventure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I am off with my husband today for our Alaskan Adventure Cricut Cruise.  We have dropped the kids off at Grandma's house in Ojai, California for 7 days at the beach and by the pool--while we load our warm coat and hiking boots for some incredible views of Mother Nature.

While I am gone my wonderful Design Team members will continue to post our Challenges & Tips.  Be sure and check all of the wonderful projects they have in store for you.

I wanted to share one of the projects we will be making in the Cricut Class our first day.  I think this will be a fun way to kick things off.
We are making this post it note holder for our Craft Tables.  Robyn from My Pink Stamper was one of our Cruise Sponsors and along with some great prizes she also donated a customized stamp set for each of my Ladies!!
Here is another view
I used an Acrylic Frame from Hobby Lobby and the Cricut Logo is from Everyday Cricut Cart.
I used my IRock to add some bling and a Sizzix embossing folder to add texture to the BoBunny Paper inside the frame.

I can't wait to tell you all about our Adventure--and share some pictures with you when I return.

Welcome to the Disney Blog Hop: Day Two
If you have come here from Kaye's site you are in the right place.  If you just happened to stop by then go to Shawn's site to start at the beginning.  I think you like all of the Disney Inspiration prepared for today's Hop.

Yeah!!! It's my turn today to share some of the Disney STUFF-I've been working on.  Pictured above is the 3D Tee pee and Peter Pan Mini Album I created with my Cricut.
I am posting the pictures today and tomorrow I will post a video of how to create the 3D leather textured
Tee pee and some of the surprises inside the Mini.
So here are some more pictures:
It measures 11 1/4 x 11 and is free standing.  I inked it with Old Paper Distress Ink
Tomorrow I will stencil on some animal shapes to the sides using Cricut stencil material.

It measures 5x6 and will hold over 40 pictures.  Really!  I created lots of pull out pockets and lots of places for pictures or journaling.  I have lots to say about "My Boys" so there is definitely a lot of real estate in this mini
I used two paper lines:  Crate Paper from my "oldies" stash to create the cover and pages, and a new collection called Campfire by October Afternoon.

The Font came from Pooh Font Set-another Disney Cricut Cartridge

The Peter Pan Characters & Icons came from the Disney Classics Cartridge ( I love this one!!)
Peter Pan is cut at 4.2 inches.

I used an old Rusty Pickle stamp set for my pirate images & sayings. And some gold coins from JoAnn's.
This treasure chest has a surprise I will show you in the video tomorrow.

These pages have a surprise also and don't you just love Mr Snee!
Here is a close-up:
both sides of these pages says I will never grow up!
Here is Captain Hook! I love love love this Cartridge.
I used a border punch to create two pockets(and to simulate waves)  This page has a pull out as well.
Here is another look at both projects.  The mini album has a ribbon closure to keep it nice and tight
and it fits inside the tee pee for a really boyish Home Decor item.  This album is great  for any boy
themed room or Disney themed room..
Thanks for stopping by today on Day 2 of the Disney Blog Hop.
Now for the Blog Candy-I will choose one Random person to win the above pictured
