Sept. 25-27 Retreat

Retreat Time Once Again-YEAhH!!!!!  Looking forward to this time all week-and I counted down the minutes until I could leave work to drive here. (too many to mention)  Met another fantastic group of ladies with the same addiction issues I am suffering from-Yes ladies I'm sorry to tell you being a scrapaholic is contagious.  So grab those really good friends and share a mini-album with them.  Pass the bowl of brads, eyelets, and misc. bling items.  Don't be ashamed of that box of scrap paper your hiding in the closet.  Break out the glue stick and tell others you use a Cricut and your not ashamed.  Once they are all addicted you will have friends to enjoy hours of conversation with while you preserve your family's memories for generations to come.  Smile knowing that not only are you having a great time---but for just a little while the time was YOURS to enjoy.  Trust me the laundry, dishes, dusting, work projects, and various other time consuming tasks, will still be there tomorrow.  When I get home from this Retreat I'll have new pages to show my family, new friends to share scrapbooking finds with, and a lighter brighter perspective on life.  Thank you Lori, Joyce, Deanne, Pat, Judy, Gay, Lorrie & Christine for helping me enjoy my weekend!

Acrylic Block Class

This adorable acrylic block is 3-D and will be the class I teach at The September 25-27th Retreat.  The cost is $10.00 for those interested.  I will also sell finished blocks for $12.00.  Measures 3 x 3.5 and is magnetic.  The paper is attached to the back of block and Vinyl letters & shapes are on the front.  You can choose between gold bell with red bow or Gold bow w/red bell.  I will have different styles available & will post what's available after this weekends Retreat.  I designed a similar project for Robert's stores that will be Demo'ed by all Stores on Laidies Night Out October 3rd from 5-7pm.  Those blocks will be made using Stamping Acrylic blocks & Vinyl.  These blocks are a little nicer and come with a metal back if you want to display on a mantel instead of the Fridge.

OUCH!!!!!!!!

Always stick to your gut instincts.  Yesterday my eight year old daughter Jasmine begged & begged to have a play date with a new friend she met in school this year.  I have not had a chance to meet many of her friends yet this year or their parents so I was hesitant.  We have a constant parade of friends at our house on a daily basis, which generally suits me just fine, but since my husband was a little wary of it this week I relented and told my daughter she could go to this new friends house if her dad accompanied her & could meet her mom.  We only allow our kids to play somewhere else if there is going to be adult supervision-seems reasonable doesn't it?  After all a parents worst fear is having something bad happen to your child when they are out of your care.  (Okay I'll admit  I have a long list of worst fears when it comes to my kids-but this is definitely one of them.)  Well to make a long story short-my husband gets a call less than an hour later from our crying daughter saying she had been attacked by her friends very big mean dog.  I wind up getting the dreaded call at work that Jasmine was in the hospital and needed stitches. Of course all I can hear is my crying daughter in the background and I lost it.  Well six stitches later, and a very frustrating call with her friends mother, and I think I no longer need to explain to my kids why I prefer they play at home or with friends whose parents we know VERY WELL.  I would much rather feed the neighborhood, clean up the mess, and listen to loud music I sometimes don't understand-then to ever get a call to meet my child in a hospital room.  I realize accidents happen & kids will get into all kinds of scrapes but at least at home I know what kind of supervision my kids will have.  Jasmine stayed home today recovering-she is sore & bruised up, and is more than happy to play in her own backyard for awhile.

CD Calendar Class

This is a class I  taught at Heartfelt Creations & at my August 28th Retreat.  I still have 3 kits left that I will take to the September 25th Retreat if there are any interested parties.  The cost is $10.00 and includes CD Case & and monthly pages.  You can choose just which Cricut shapes you want to cut for each month.  My sweet husband just surprised me with new cartridges so I now have Designer's Calendar.  I have not tried it yet but there are some cute shapes for each month of the year.  Can't wait to share this cartridge and some other great new cartridges that I  have picked up recently.  I have added Ashlyn's Alphabet, From my Kitchen, and Everyday Paper Dolls.  (Let's hear it for Michael's recent $39.99 sale)  If your wondering I was not being disloyal to Robert's I just waited as long as I could stand to before snatching up a bargain at Michael's.  Ladies those of you out there that are as addicted as I am to scrapbooking understand me-right?  Well anyways I hope you like this project.  Calendars make great Christmas Gifts for the Grandparents.  You can lift up the picture and find a full monthly calendar underneath.

Two Page Layouts for Sale

I am selling off some of my layouts from past classes to make room for new creations.  Hope you like them.  Any two page layout is $15.00 each and can be picked up anytime.

Twilight Chipboard Word Album

What can I say I'm hooked.  After watching the previews shown at the VMA's I am counting down the days to November 20 (34.5 days to be exact).  I know its an illness, but I blame my teenage daughters for introducing this book series into my life.  I have read & re-read the novels to make sure I've got the story line straight, I've started creating this album and am now working on a Team Jacob 2 page layout-so I'm feeling pretty ready for the big day.  Hope time flies because my family can only stand so many Twilight Projects at one time.  This album is one I created for Heartfelt Creations in Sandy hope you like it.

Congratulations Graduate!

My first born just completed his two year degree with Universal Technical Institute in Sacramento, CA.  I'm very proud of him and was glad to be able to attend his graduation in CA on September 11th.  My other son Derek & I flew into Sacramento for graduation and proceeded to pick up the truck that my son had reserved to move his belongings back to UT.  Not that difficult or unusual right?  Well the stressful part for me came when I got a look at the 16ft moving truck and the tow unit attached to the back.  Can you say SEMI TRUCK.  I was prepared mentally to drive a big truck-but until I actually saw the monster I don't think I was REALLY prepared for the long haul.  Luckily the truck was very easy to drive and everything went smoothly on the two day trek back to Utah.  I do feel a little like a trucker chick now though.  I also know that even though I am not comfortable driving a large vehicle on narrow mountain passes- I would do or could do anything for my kids sake.  So we are home now and I now have to play catch up with my Housework, Roberts store events, PTSA checkbook, and with my other kids all the while looking forward to my next little piece of sanity the September 25-27 Retreat.  My thanks to everyone that offered their congratulations & support of our family's latest milestone.  Those darn kids just keep growing up-no matter how much  time I spend scrapbooking their baby pictures.  Its too bad preserving memories doesn't come with a freeze this moment in time button.

Scrapbook Retreats

We just keep on having FUN out in Eureka. We've just returned from our fourth Weekend at this lovely Bed & Breakfast and we already can't wait to go back. The food is incredible, the home is charming, the hosts are warm and friendly and let's face it ladies it is just so nice to get away every once in a while. Right???? A few days of rest and relaxation, enjoying the company of others, and scrapbooking our memories is the perfect solution to our hectic, busy lives. I am posting some new shots as well as a picture of the calendar kit we made. Thank you to all of those that joined us you made it so memorable.
