February 19-21 Retreat

It feels like I haven't posted anything for awhile---but that's because I've been Retreating-yeah!!!  You ladies are so much fun to go out of town with that I forget to do lots of other things I need to do.  This retreat was so much fun and it featured some new friends, some returning friends, and our YOUNGEST SCRAPBOOKER (Baby Annie)!  This is actually Annie's second time retreating with us-she brought her mom when she was 8.5 months in womb.  We liked being able to hold her this time around.  If the picture of our Challenge winner looks familiar it's because Angie won our challenge on her last retreat (way to go!)  This group was a lot of fun to get to know-we all especially loved the SISTERS-they reminded us ALLwhy we love our own sisters.  They said it was O.K. if we affectionately refered to them as The Wicked Sisters! This group turned out an impressive number of ADORABLE layouts and we even had a few ladies "Get Caught Up"  WOW that almost never happens in Scrapbook World.  Our new friends were a blast & a little camera shy-but they kept us all laughing and even snorting a time or two.  Thank you ladies for a fantastic weekend-we love to meet new friends-see returning friends-scrapbook with Moms & Grandmoms and enjoy a relaxing weekend in Eureka!

New Cartridges!

What can I say but........yes, yes, yes!  I personally can't wait to buy the Preserves Cartridge & "just because" cards.  I knew there was a reason I waited to make my cook book project.  As soon as possible I will let you know when these cartridges can be purchased.  There is also a new solutions cartridge called From the nest but I have no pictures yet.  If you have not updated your Gypsy lately-do so now.  You will get to preview these cartridges. Way to go Provo Craft-I'm impressed!

My first Video on YouTube

Well I finally tried a video-I hate the sound of my own voice but I hope that at least the project is tempting for you to try.  I really did have fun making video, but I had a BIG learning curve.  There are two parts because I talk to much and could not stop at just 10 minutes.  So be sure and watch Part 1 & Part 2.  Hope you enjoy.

A Little Help from my Friends??????

Well ladies I'm getting ready to invest some money into updating & fine tuning this website-so I NEED your help.  I've had alot of face to face comments, suggestions  & recommendations but I need to know on the blog if anyone is paying attention.  PLEASE-PLEASE post a comment if you can to any of my posts so that I know what kinds of things are interesting and/or helpful to you for this site.  Also if you have watched the backgrounds, buttons & basic layout change over the last few months and want to make a request, recommendation or suggestion-PLEASE DO!  I have too many ideas and I need to make some final decisions.  Once I give all this info to my web designer I will have a more permanent looking page & hopefully a more user friendly site.  I can't thank all of you enough for your suggestions and comments.  I really do listen and want to hear more from you.

Cricut Dial Settings

As promised I created a Cricut Dial Settings Guide to help my students know what settings work best for different materials that can be cut with your Cricut.  These are general starting points and may need slight adjustments based on your blade.  Click on the image below and you can print the larger size from your computer.  I would tape this to the inside of your cricut machine above your screen on the plastic dome for easy  reference.  Hope this makes cutting easier!

Sizzix Eclips & Tim Holtz new Machine coming Summer 2010

This is a new machine by Sizzix.  I haven't played with this one yet.  They are trying to make it sound easy to use-but I'm a little skeptical.  Check out the video and tell me what you think.  I think Cricut owners are still going to be very happy with their choice.

For those that want something a little different there will be a Tim Holtz MOTORIZED die cut machine.  This is similiar to cuttlebug but with a Tim Holtz Flair.  Will not be out until June 2010 but here is a preview video for the curious-like me!

The Cinch---More New Toys from CHA

This one also looks pretty GREAT!    I already have a Zutter Bind it All but this machine looks even easier to run.  It is made by WeRMemory Keepers and they know how to make tools.  My crop-a-dile & corner chomper still my most used tools.  I've included the CHA video for those that want to take a look at this FUN new toy-looks like it will be released in April 2010.
