Quick Tip Tuesday! Digital Card Making!

Hi Everybody!

It's Jenny from Crazy About Cricut, and it's my turn to share a Talk Time Tuesday Tip. Today I'd like to share about digital scrapping kits. They save time, and money!

We've recently bought a house, so I've had less time to craft, and also have had some of my crafting supplies packed away :( Crafting helps me keep my sanity, so as busy as we are getting ready to move, I still need to squeeze in some time to create.  I recently received a couple of digital kits from 4MyBabies, so I decided to make 4 cards in 30 minutes! Here's how I did it:

*First select the digital image you want to use.
*You can print how ever many you need to.
(Watermark on picture for designer's protection.)
*In this case, I needed 4, so I set up my printer to use 4 3.5" size images.

*When printing them, make sure to print them on cardstock so they are more sturdy.

*Cut out all four tags (easy to do since the tags have no complicated edges!).
*Add a brad, and some twine to each tag.
*Then take 4 card bases, 4 mats (with inked edges), and some pop dots to create 4 identical cards in 30 minutes (from start to finish!).
*Can leave to add a sentiment as needed. I added mine since I had some perfect ones from Pink By Design that I wanted to use.
That's it! There are many digital scraping companies out there, so I'd encourage you to go out and I'm sure you will find lots that you like! Start saving! Thanks, and make sure to keep checking back here on the Creative Cutter room for lots of ideas, contests, and tips :OD

Thanks for this great tip Jenny!

Cricut Design Challenge: Cricut Banner

Provo Craft was having a Design Challenge this week where they asked Cricut fans to design a
BANNER with the word CRICUT
on it for their upcoming HSN launch of the new Expression 2 on
September 26.
so
I hurried and pulled out some supplies and got busy last night around midnight.
at 4:00pm
I drove to the Provo Craft office and dropped it off.
It was so much fun to work on this project and if I had had another day I could have
really gone crazy-but here is my submission.
Wish me Luck.

Hugs~

Talk Time Tuesday: Creative Cutter Resources

I mentioned earlier that there would be an opportunity for some of our favorite Cricut Bloggers to be included in my upcoming book and here is that opportunity.
The book will have a section called Creative Cutting Resources.
In this section I will list other Cricut Blog sites that readers can go to for more
Cricut Inspiration.
I want to include sites that are committed to Cricut projects and have frequent, innovative, and inspiring postings.
Help us find the BEST sites to include in this section of my book by completing the following survey.
Use This Survey Form
Creative Cutter Resources Survey
Tell me the sites you believe we should share with others in our upcoming Cricut Book
Consider these categories for each survey answer.
1.  Card makers:
a.)  your favorite CAS (clean and simple) blogger
b.)  your favorite detailed card blogger
c.)  advanced technique blogger (e.g. uses Gypsy, Yudu, My Story)

2.  Scrapbookers:
d.)  your favorite CAS scrapbooker
e.)  your favorite detailed scrapbooker
f.)  advanced technique scrapbooker

3.  Favorite Home Decor/ Cricut-related bloggers?

4.  Other favorite technique bloggers:  machine stitching, Tim Holtz-style, Victorian/vintage, Steampunk
For sites that conduct sales & product promotion there will be a separate opportunity to be included in the book as well.  There will be different criteria as the goal for some of these companies is product sales & marketing.  If your company wishes to be included then please be sure you meet the following criteria and contact me with your company information no later than September 30th.

The Cricut book will be called The Cricut Expression:how to make the most of your machine
Retails $19.99 and is published by the same company that publishes
The Close to my Heart books. Gibbs-Smithhttp://www.gibbs-smith.com/
It will be out to the public in January 2012 PC will be handling promotion-we will include companies that have the following criteria
1-At least 65% of their projects have Cricut Images or use PC products
2-Postings are 4-5 times a week
3-Followers over 1000-and if you have Design Team members the combined number is fine
4-Must be willing to mention/promote Cricut book when released
5-Websites included in the book will be allowed to purchase books at 50% retail plus s/h for resale through their sites.
This is only if you are set up for sales on your site and want to carry the product-sales are not required.

Hope to hear from lots of you very soon!

Quick Tip Tuesday! Curling Ribbon!!

My Tip Time Tues is ...
CURLING RIBBON!!
I just learned this over the weekend and want to share with all!!
Items needed:
ribbon
scotch tape
all metal knitting needles (I used size 5)
cookie sheet
water
and last but not least an OVEN :)

Step one: Preheat your oven to 200 degrees F

Step two: Tape the very end of your ribbon to the top of your knitting needle, then lightly wet the ribbon just unlit it is damp. Then wind your ribbon around the knitting needle. (the closer or tighter your wind the tighter the curl) Then tape off the other end.

Step three: Place knitting needle on cookie sheet and put in oven for 10-15min, depending on your oven and how damn your ribbon is. I suggest checking on the ribbon every 5 min just to make sure it doesn't burn.

Step four: Remove cookie sheet with knitting needle from oven... please use a hot pad :) and let cool for about 5 mins.
Step five: Then when it has cooled, un-tape the end and unravel... and ta-da!! You have curled ribbon!!

I love this new tip and trick and I hope you do to... here is a small project I made with it!!

Thanks for checking out the CreativeCutter.org Tip Time Tuesday!!
DT Member Mollie
Thanks Mollie for sharing this Quick Tip with us! Be sure to stop by Mollie's blog Crickets Cricuts Creations for more inspiration!

Hot Product from Scrapbook Expo

I purchased this set at Expo and just loved these edges.  I think the water pen is GENIUS.  I have been trying a water pen for years and most of the time the water leaks and is so hard to control placement.
I had a nice chat with the creator and her team and discovered that she is a big
supporter of the BLOG world.
so.....
Watch this video and visit their website with the link below.
If you place an order tell them Creative Cutter sent you and use the following
COUPON CODE :  UTAH5%.
I will be posting my own video during the Disney Blog Hop September 24th
showing you how much fun I am having with this tool and giving one lucky winner a chance to win a set!
I wouldn't recommend these rulers/cutter if I didn't think they would make your
life HAPPIER!
