6 x6 Page Display Stand

I was originally going to post this on Sunday but my back is giving me fits this week so I'm a little behind on some of my projects--sorry ladies!

I was telling my husband about a cute stand I saw made by 7 gypies that I thought would be a nice way to  display sample mini pages I create and he immediately got to work and created this lovely Page Display for me.  Isn't he AWESOME!!!  This stand measures 8" high and 10" across and is a wonderful way to display a new 6x6 layout each month.  Since I make a calendar project every year I thought this stand would make a perfect ALBUM/CALENDAR KIT.
I will post a full video showing you how to paint and assemble the kits.
If you want a STAND ONLY
The cost will be $13.00
and will include two book clips and six page protectors to insert your pages into.
If you want a STAND & PAGES KIT
The cost will be $19.00
and will include Stand Kit and 12 scrapbook layouts to insert into page protectors.

As you can see I painted the one above in white because it matches most craft rooms-but I will definitely be making another one in Black & Red.  The nice thing about this stand is when you are done displaying your pages you have an entire year scrapped and ready to put into an album.  If you add an additional 6 page protectors then you can display each page on its own with a Monthly Calendar on the back.  This way it does double duty its a page display and a calendar.  How awesome is this????

Please pre-order now through December 5th Kits will be ready Monday December 6th to pick up or ship.  I
will post a PayPal button on the right sidebar this evening.

Santa's Bag Mini Album

I created this mini album for my Swap Partner over on Your Paper Pantry.  I created my OWN SHAPE in chipboard and then covered it with quilt batting and red silk fabric.  I created a cinch closure to keep the 7" round chipboard pages all nice and snug inside.  I Love how this Album turned out and think I will be making some more.  I have a friend that I think needs a Santa Bag this Christmas.  I have posted the video below so that you can watch a more detailed description.  I also have two more Holiday Projects I will post tonight and tomorrow.  I just can't get enough of Christmas Projects!

I have been asked to explain how I display MY own Mini's so I thought now was a good time to do that.  I just love making mini's!!!! It gives me a sense of completing something.  I can usually create one in a day or two depending on how quickly the image pops in my head.  I use my mini's as Home Decor Items.  I display them for the Holiday they represent and then pack them away with the rest of the ornaments or decorations.

My sweet Hubby Kyle also made me a display coffee table that acts as a horizontal shadow box and I have some of my Family's Favorites displayed under the glass.  I have to say that my Children are the main reason I make so many Mini Albums.  They love seeing their pictures out and remembering moments we have shared together in a quick and compact sort of way.  The mini's can always be handled-They are interactive and are NEVER HANDS OFF-so that makes them even more FUN for kids.  Its the kind of thing they like to SHOW OFF to friends or dates.  It is so much easier to show a quick mini about a Fun Event or Holiday then to drag out the YEARS worth of Scrapbook Albums chronicaling their lives.
As long as my KIDS like them I will keep making them-they keep us chatting and sharing and every new adventure becomes MINI WORTHY!

Sketches

Some of you have requested more layout ideas or sketches to be posted.  I will do my best to either create a sketch from my layouts or to give you some great references for sketches I think you might enjoy.  This sketch came from a great website called Let's Scrap.  It is a scrapbook community that posts sketches and sample layouts every week to help inspire its members.  There are several sites like this one on the web, for those of you that love SKETCHES I encourage you to check them out.

Disney Christmas Cards

Some of you have asked for Disney Christmas Cards.  Disney cartridges are a bit more advanced but for those of you that can handle the layers-I have made two Christmas Cards using these adorable characters.
Here Comes Mickey Claus
Made using Mickey & Friends with the Flip Function. Mickey size 3.5" from page 80.  Hat and Santa sack from Paper Doll Dress Up  made at 2.5".  I cut the ties from the Santa sack and added my own cording with a couple of mini red jingle bells.  I also used a rectangle from Plantin for the chimney and a  cup of coffee from A Child's Year for the smoke.  Inside the card I used a tree & gift from Joys of the Season.
Close up of Mickey.  Use a black & white pen to add details.

This Winnie the Pooh Card was made using Pooh & Friends cartridge page 24 and hat from page 58 (Icon Creative Feature used) & Calligraphy Collection for the Scroll.  I stamped Naughty or Nice using a Close to My Heart acrylic stamp set called Santa's List D1383.
Hope you enjoy both of these cards.  They were so much FUN to make.  Let me know what other kinds you would like to see or which cartridges you want to see me use.  I am working on some layouts and sketches I hope to post more new items in a couple of days.

Pink ATG gun

I just came across this deal at Custom Crops for Pink ATG gun for a great deal on TuesdaMy.  It is only offered to the first 200 customers so if you want one be sure and get there early.

If you see reindeer-watch out for Santa

I thought it would be fun to explore making Christmas cards with a twist.  Instead of recreating one card over and over I took the scraps left over from making the first card and explored how to use up the paper and cardstock to make different cards with the same theme.  I happen to have 3 different Reindeer Stamps so I chose one paper stack from DCWV and decided to play.  Here are the 3 cards I created using some of the same basic supplies:
DCWV paper stack  Magic of the Season
Snowflake background Stamp
Tiny Snowflake paper punch
Reindeer Stamps from Stampin' Up!, Reindeer from Recollections set Signs of the Season, and Reindeer from My Mind's Eye I Believe set
Some bling & some black satin ribbon from my stash.

Hope you like these cards: Remember if you see reindeer-Santa must be nearby!!!

      Homemade Christmas: CWC Challeng #5

      BAKING CHALLENGE

This is the two page layout I made for The Cooking with Cricut Challenge this week:  Baking.  Since its about that time of year when most of us put our Betty Homemaker Apron on and start making those Holiday Goodies this challenge seems fitting.  I used the Baking Bear cut file from the Scrapbooking Eden website  Click Here to see files (you can cut her files if you have a Pazzles, Wishblade or Cricut with SCAL or Make the Cut Software) and of course I used my Cricut and Gypsy to Create some fun Gingerbread Cookies.
Cricut Cartridges used were:Christmas Cheer, Doodletype, From My Kitchen and Plantin Schoolbook
I used my Gypsy to weld a letter U to each side of a larger plate to make a platter(black piece under the blue plate) and I used good old Stickles to add some fun candies to the front of my gingerbread men.  I love this new DCWV paper stack new this year for Christmas it has a real traditional holiday feel to it.  Hope you like this layout be sure to check out the CWC blog for a great giveaway.

Creative Cutter Rain Drops NEW PRODUCT!!!

I have been asked several times to teach and demonstrate a fun crafty product called Glimmer Mists by Tattered Angels.  These fun sparkly mists add a hint of shimmer and shine to your paper crafting with some beautiful results.  The cost however runs anywhere from $6.00-$7.00 for just one bottle and can be hard to find in your local Scrapbook Stores.  Alot of the Big Box Stores either don't carry them or carry only limited quantities.

Well in an effort to make this fun product more affordable and easy to get-I have created my own line of Sprays which I am calling:  Creative Cutter Rain Drops.

Colors:  Espresso, Camel, Sky, Peach Fuzz and Amethyst(purple)
I have Five fun colors pictured above and will post a video on how to use these sprays to make some beautiful  paper flowers.  The colors have all been created and I am in the process of creating the labels so these 2oz bottles are ready for your Pre-Order.  Each color adds glimmer and shine with a hint of color.  If  it could Rain in Color we would pick one of these!!!  Each bottle will cost just $4.50 and for those out of state I will calculate shipping based on weight.  All local Creative Cutter Friends can pick up orders at no additional charge.  These sprays are top quality acid free, non toxic and water based.  This product is my own recipe and will now allow you to try a really cool scrapbooking technique at a 30% savings.

I am offering an Introductory Special of 3 Bottles of Christmas Colors:  Polar Ice, Emerald Green & Cranberry Red for only $12.00. Pictured Below

For those interested in ordering just email me at Rcathierigby@aol.com the color & quantity.  The finished product will be available for pick up by this Saturday November 13th.  Payments can be made with Credit Cards using PayPal or by check/cash.

      Gypsy Update

I had some problems getting the free downloads from Gypsy today.  I went through all the information they provided and think there is an easy fix.  Here is what I did-hope it helps anyone out there that had the same problem I did.  You need to have the beta version of the Gypsy Sync on for the download to work.  Here is a link to get it installed to your computer Download the Beta version of the CricutSync here.  It does require you to remove some security to get it installed but you also get updated firmware.  Process is pretty quick only took less than 10 minutes.  You should get a grey box with a green cricut face and status bar saying Gypsy Sync.
