Time for A Challenge and Design Team Updates!

Ready for another super fun challenge here at the Creative Cutter Room?

We have a Fun challenge for you today!

The Challenge: Create A new project with the theme Family Round Up! (Family Reunion Challenge)
This challenge is open to your own interpretation but must be a new project related to the theme!

For my Project I created some T-Shirts my family will be wearing at our Family Reunion in Zions National Park.  My husband's parents are Celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
All 6 of their children and their families will be gathering together to enjoy
some swimming, hiking, cooking, games, and plain old FUN!
I started out cutting or printing out the images I would need for our shirts.  I used Celebrate with Flourish for the Sun and Old West for the Horses & Rope Frame.  I also used it for the Lettering.

I then taped everything onto my YuDu to prepare to burn the images onto the Emulsion Screen(make sure you have already prepared the emulsion screen for images)
This is a finished screen ready for paint.  TIP if using different colors then separate each image onto different screens or parts of the same screen.

This is the finished back side of our shirts.....

and this is the front side of our shirts.

We are really looking forward to seeing your projects! So be sure to:

Link your project  here at the Creative Cutter Room to be entered to win a prize!
And the prize is..
 Cool Cricut Markers!

You have until July 13, 2011 to enter your project.

Quick Tip Tuesday! Create A 3D Star!

Gaby here with a Quick tip on...

How to create a 3D Star-

How to create a 3D star from a plain
star.

Score at each and every point.

This is what it looks like (minus one)

Fold downward at the peaks.

Fold inward at the valleys.

Play with it by applying pressure
The more you play, the better it works.

Here you see a finished star and a plain
star.

Extra Tip: If you are like me and 90%
of the time you want things inked, but
the parts/pieces are too small, use
a marker instead of ink.  Here I am
using a brown marker.

For very small intricate cuts, you can just
tap the marker on the opening/cut.
Hope this helps at least one of you to create some starts for your 4th of July projects!!

New Layout: Winnie the Pooh

I started this two page layout at the last Retreat and finally finished it this Retreat .  I am a huge Winnie the Pooh fan and love the Pooh & Friends Cricut Cartridge.  The paper I used is DCWV Seasons stack.

Retreat Fun

Want a great way to spend the weekend?
Then grab the girlfriends, throw some pictures and paper in your scrapbook tote collecting dust and don't worry about make-up or a blow dryer.
This is a bra optional kind of Getaway!

I have a Crazy Fun Group of croppers this weekend that have made me laugh so hard I almost needed an inhaler!

Marsha, Kari, Lynda & Betty know how to have a good time and get some scrapbooking done also.
I wanted to share some Day 1 pictures and will post some more tomorrow.

Our theme was Friends and the ladies received a goodie bag with scrapbook treats and a Purse because.....
Friends are like purses, you can never have too many!

Welcome Wednesday

Well ladies my babies are home!!!  They arrived last week just before all kinds of craziness struck.
If you have stopped by at all last week you may have noticed that my posts have been few and far between.

Even though my babies are back, my gypsy and then my computer decided it was time to check out.  So I learned how to fight a virus on my computer and I bid a fond farewell to my gypsy #3.

The computer seems to be on the mend and my Gypsy will be replaced by a younger model-(I guess not everything is better with age-my poor gypsy).

So today I want to share some pictures of my last Scrapbook Retreat Getaway which I desperately needed and was made even better by the fact that I would get to hang out with some friends.

Happy Birthday Mollie!!!
Mollie a member of my Design Team had her 30th Birthday on Friday and chose to spend it with some of her Scrappy Friends and me at the Tintic Goldminer's Bed & Breakfast.  Check out her blog for a fun Birthday Challenge.
Her sweet mom made a wonderful handmade Carrot Cake for her and she shared this delicious treat with all of us!
I was also able to create some new layouts that I can't wait to share with you.  First I need to get a card reader that works.
I did want to share one of my newer layouts created awhile back and rejected-- :(----from my upcoming book.  So even though it is a reject I hope you like it.  I used an older cartridge for part of it-do you recognize the George images?
Also
I do have openings in my Snowberry Retreat in Eden this September and I also have some more spots open next week and in August.  Be sure and check out the Retreat Dates-and try to join us soon.
Before I go I also wanted to let you know that there will be some NEW Cricut Cartridges being released:
9 Months
Country Fair
Love You Latte
Recess and my personal favorite
Sweet Shop (the images in this one remind me of my Sweet Shop mini album)

Be sure and update soon and stay tuned for an E2 video this weekend-yes it arrived on Friday and I am playing, playing, playing and hope to bring you a video soon.

Happy Hump Day everyone!

Quick Tip Tuesday! Time to get Organized!

Hi! This is Carri!  I would like to share this quick tip with you!

I don't have a lot of time to craft between work, family and household chores, so to make my crafting time more productive I first spent my time getting organized!
I decided it would be easier to sort my supplies by theme and holiday!
Here are some examples of how I sorted:
These three drawers hold:
baby, school and travel

This larger bin holds Halloween and Fall

This 12X12 Sleeve holds Memorial Day and the 4th of July

Now when I craft I can easily pull out the bin I need and have all the supplies right on hand! This has been saving me so much time! Instead of looking for the stickers, and stamps I know I have some where I can get right to creating!

I also decided to tackle my dreaded ribbon! It took about 2 hours but it is done and now the ribbon is usable! and all this ribbon...

Fit into this!

Check out my super quick tip video!

I hope you enjoyed my quick tips!
