Tip Tuesday! Make your own Glimmer Mist!

Hello!

It's Tracy here from Owl Be Craftin' and today I am going to show you how to make your own Glimmer Mists.  I love to use them on my layouts and cards, but sometimes they do get a little expensive or you cannot find the right color.
To start out, you want some Perfect Pearls, a Mini Mister, a straw, water, and a reinker (optional).

I cut off the tip of the straw at an angle to create a little "spoon."  Pick up a little of the Perfect Pearls with the straw.  I decided to use Biscotti because it gives the mist a shine, but doesn't add color.

Put the Perfect Pearls in the Mini Mister and fill the Mister up with water.

Gently mix the Perfect Pearls with the water.  Do not shake it because you will end up with bubbles and it will not spray even.  Rock the bottle back and forth.

If you want to add color to your mist, pick any color Distress Re-Inker and add two or three drops.

Now, you have your very own Glimmer Mist.  You could also use a colored Perfect Pearls or try to mix some Distress colors to see how it turns out.  Have fun!

It's DECEMBER!!!!

It's December....this is my favorite time of year!!

I hope in all of the busy activities we all have that we find time to put Christ in Christmas.
I was born on Christmas Eve and when this time of year comes my heart rejoices!
Not because its my birthday, but because my family takes time to remember at the close of the year, the things that are really important to us.
We cherish our loved ones, think of how our lives were touched by loved ones past and we pray that next year will find us healthy and together once again.
Whatever your celebrations are this month I hope above all else they help you remember the Reason for the Season!
Hope all of your memories are SWEET ones this month.

Quick Tip Tuesday! Paper Beads!

Hey All!! Jessica from Craftin' and Stampin dropping by to share a quick tip!

For today's tip, I wanted to show you how using these tools:

Can help you make these:

HOW STINKING COOL, right???
Well, to make it EVEN easier, I made a video...Check it out below:

Supplies:
Paper
Ruler
Pencil
Toothpicks
Stryphone Block
Stampin' Up Crytal Effects
Bic Markers
The measurements that I used are: 1 1/4 x 5 inches. To get the triangle shape, I marked the middle of 1 1/4 inches which is 5/8 of an inch, and from that 5/8 inch mark, I went down 5 inches. From that 5 inch point, I took the ruler and drew a line to the 1 1/4 inch mark. Then I repeated back at the 0 mark I made. SUPER EASY!!!

Here is what you can do to get them to dry:

OK all! I hope you enjoyed my tip!!! Thanks for watching!!

Hope to catch you all Craftin' and Stampin'!

Is it SNOW wonderful where you are?

The weather has been unseasonably warm in Utah-
and I am ready for some SNOW!
I know in some places the snow has already hit and for the folks back East I know SNOW is the last thing they need right now!  So share with us what its like in your neck of the woods....and are you happy about it???
This Winter wonderland layout is one I created at my last retreat and I wanted to share a tip about making some snow on a page.
There are several craft options available like a snow pen, snow tex in a jar, glitter and of course white flocking, but for this layout I used some left over batting that came in a jewelry box.  I trimmed it down and added some glitter for that glistening look and I really like it.
Even though it appears really fluffy it flattens down nicely in a page protector and still looks like mounds of snow at the bottom of my pictures.

I am originally from Boston, Massachusetts so my heartfelt prayers are going out to the folks back east and all of those suffering from Hurricane Sandy.....let's keep them in our prayers and do what we can to help them.  I am just heartbroken when I see the devastation and the loss of so many of what I know are their treasured memories!

Work Smarter NOT Harder! Tip Tuesday!

 Hello Crafty Friends!
Welcome to Tip Tuesday!
Everyone knows the saying...Work Smarter NOT Harder...It sounds familiar, huh?
With our busy schedules and the desire to still craft, I thought it would be perfect to share a tip on how to accomplish both.
First, choose a sketch that you truly like and use it to make multiple cards for various holidays. You will only have to measure once, which will save time.

Here is the sketch I used today.

Since there are numerous holidays approaching it was easy to create a few cards. I measured the papers only once, the centered frames are all from the same cartridge (Elegant Edges) and they were cut at the same size (3", 3 1/4", qnd 3 1/2"). I altered the shape slightly, but the size still remained the same and fit perfectly between the two rectangles.

Since the colors, die-cut, and embellishments are all different each card is still unique.
Now...are you ready to work smarter and not harder?!?!
Stay Creative,
Georgiana

Sacramento, CA

I am driving home today from Sacramento, CA. today.
It's been a fabulous weekend with Scrapbook Expo and I thought I would share some of what I have been doing the last few days.
Getting out to promote my book has been a fun experience, but I am definitely ready for a break.

I have met some wonderful new friends in Portland, Denver & Sacramento and now I go home to my family and focus on other things.
Thank you everyone for the kind words and support in all of my classes....you have made this a wonderful adventure and I look forward to the time when we can meet up again!!
Hugs~
