Welcome Anne

Let me introduce you to the last member of my Design Team...Anne.  Anne is one of my dearest friends, I am so excited she has agreed to share some of her fantastic creations with us!   I have never met a more loyal, trustworthy,  or devoted person and yes she is an incredibly talented scrapbooker.  She is a wife, mother and nurse by profession but she has also been teaching scrapbooking classes off and on for the past 2 years at Roberts Arts & Crafts in Sandy.  I have often asked Anne to help me prepare class kits because unlike me she is very precise about her measurements and is a perfectionist when preparing her Class Kits.   I know you will enjoy her project ideas.  The first project she is sharing with us is a Tri-Fold Wedding Album.  Anne has agreed to create some pre-cut kits for us and will teach this class on Wednesday September 15th at the Creative Cutter Room from 7:00pm-9:00pm  Cost will be $15.00 with a $3.00 discount if you are a FOLLOWER to this website.  Please post a comment on this post and I will randomly draw out a winner for the Little Star Acrylic Stamp set from Fancy Pants on the night of her class September 15th

How I Failed Kindergarten....

I am a Mom to six beautiful children that are my Pride and Joy.  My oldest is now 20 years old and my youngest is 5 and yes you guessed it going to Kindergarten this year.  My five older children were all very ready for kindergarten on their first day.  I have mostly been a Full-Time working Mom thru all of their lives and have only been a Stay at Home mom with Kylee my last child.  When my other 5 children started school they could count to 100, they could tie their own shoes, they could write their first & last name, and they could already read some basic 3 letter words.  Well of course being a SAHM has been wonderful---I have been able to spend so much more time with my little one and thankfully I have been able to start my Scrapbook Business which I enjoy so much!

Wouldn't you know it though---When I took my little one to test for kindergarten I earned my first ever F in Kindergarten!!!!  Well of course they were not handing out grades but that is the grade I felt like I left with because my sweet little Kylee was not ready to write her name, she didn't want to count past 25,  she didn't want to name her colors and she could only name 3 of the 26 letters of the alphabet.  My Kylee can however start the computer and log on to her favorite web pages.  She can turn on a Cricut and find mommy's favorite cartridge Paper Doll Dress Up and did I mention she can beat almost all of us on WII games!  Yikes...I feel awful for not working more on preparing her for Kindergarten.  Luckily she is such a bright girl--I know now that she is in school she will overcome her Mom's shortfalls.  She came home from school today and can write her name perfectly!

Thank goodness for TEACHERS!!  I have had many many wonderful teachers in my educational life and even more wonderful Men and Women have been involved in my Children's Educational Lives  that I hope we can all thank these wonderful people for the work they do with our children!!!

My daughter Jasmine created this Einstein poster last year in school and she used her very own Baby Bug to create it.....I know I have mentioned it from time to time in my classes so I thought I would share a picture of it now that School is back in Session....Here's to all of our little geniuses and the many wonderful pictures they will give us this year to scrapbook!! :)

Sketch Challenge

This is the layout I created using the Sketch provided by the (paper)Trail Makers Challenge Blog.  Using sketches is a great way to jump start the creative process.  These are some pictures I took in Oregon at Multonomah Falls and I loved working with the Basic Grey Capella line.  The technique I'm sharing is the hand stitched ribbon loops.  I just tacked them to my page and then used some buttons in a coordinating color to cover the stitches.  Play along on some of the Trail Makers Challenges for a chance to win cool prizes and create some great Scrapbook Layouts!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA!!!

Yesterday was Beverly Franklin's birthday so if you see her this weekend give her a hug and wish her a Happy Birthday for me!  I am at a Retreat this weekend and we tried to call her on her Birthday(yesterday) to sing her the B-day song but we missed her.  She is an amazingly sweet lady and I'm glad she let's me call her GRANDMA

It's Cold Outside Challenge

My pink stamper had a challenge creating a winter layout/card or project using Cricut posted this week so here is my submission.  DASHING THROUGH THE SNOW.
I used Winter Woodland, and When It's Cold outside cartridges.  My letters have Star Dust Stickles and the white letters have white flocking powder to give it the just snowed on look.

Pebbles Chips

Whenever I introduce a new member to my Design Team I like to giveaway something fun to a Follower that has posted a comment or request for our Design Team.  So be sure and post a comment for Wendy and let her know what kinds of projects you would like to see her create.  I will choose a random winner on September 8th to receive 3 packages of Pebbles Chips.  These fun chipboard embellishments are a great addition to any card or scrapbook page.

Welcome Wendy

It has taken me a bit of time to prepare this Post but I finally would like to introduce you to another Creative Cutter Design Team member.  Wendy is probably the sweetest and most genuine person I know.  And boy is she talented!  She is not only a Cricut/Gypsy expert but she also paints, sews, makes jewelry,  crochets, loves to read and did I mention leaps tall buildings.....  Well you get the point she is Crafty and I'm thrilled she has agreed to help show you some Fun projects you can make with your Cricut and Gypsy.  Among many other things she works part-time at Roberts Arts & Crafts and has taught many, many people how to use their crafty tools.

She has created a spiral bound mini album for her first project with us and it is so CUTE!  This project uses some of the paper many of you I'm sure have purchased from past EXPO visits.  Hopefully this project inspires you to use some paper you may not have looked at in  awhile and create a new FAMILY treasure.
Supplies Used:
Cricut Cartridges: Songbird for Title  & Give a Hoot
Cut paper 6x8 in Size  (Three Bugs in a Rug Paper Collection Used)
Coordinating Three Bugs stickers & Die Cuts
Stickles
Distress Ink (Vintage Photo)
Some nailheads
Bazzill Cardstock
Cinch binding tool & O wire for binding
Wendy used the Gypsy to Weld the Title on the cover & to create the shadow as well.

We had the best time---doing nothing much! It was family time and I LOVED every minute of it. I especially loved the 2 days of rain down pours. Those of you that know me well know that I really loved the rain and really hated the 3 days of Full sunshine that followed. Luckily there was a nice breeze the entire time and it was never so hot that my brain boiled over. Here are some pictures of my family living the simple life some tents, some food, some water fun and most importantly Some Good Old Fashioned Family Time!!!

Camping Weekend

I made a quick Escape this past weekend so I apologize to those that have been trying to reach me.  I joined my husband in Flaming Gorge and the kids and I were able to spend some quality time with him before the chaos of a new school year ensues.  This has been a busy summer for everyone so it was nice to kind of break away and enjoy nature for a little bit.  I will post some pictures later on today when I finish responding to all of my missed calls and unanswered emails.  I hope no Cricut emergencies happened this weekend but I will touch base with everyone as soon as I can today.  Hope everyone is having a smooth First Day of School for some of you this may have happened last week but for us so far so good.  I have one in High School(Sammie) one in Middle School(Christine) one in Elementary(Jasmine) and my Kylee is in Kindergarten next week-she has some testing to do this week.  I think she will score high if they have a Cricut quiz not so high in reading--since she is my last child and my life is crazy right now--mom has slacked a little in the reading department.  She isn't reading yet the way my other kids were at this age.  I promised her today to do better this year!!!
