October is National Breast Cancer Month,
In Honor of all the women who have fought a brave battle this is for you!!
I know that many of you have been touched by cancer in one way or another. It may have been you or a loved one or someone you know. It is amazing to me that such an ugly disease can do some amazing things. I have seen it bring people together, families can grow stronger and show people just how strong they really are. In the fall of 2004 my mom had a double mastectomy. At the time you hear the news I think the only word you hear is CANCER... but after multiple doc visits and letting her make the choice. You realize that you need to be HER support. Prayers and love is one of the best medicines. As of today she has been cancer free since then!
This talk time Tuesday is to tell us your story, or to give those who are facing this love and support!
One of the ladies on our DT is part of LUFP, please check it out!
Leave a comment and for every comment that is left I will DONATE a 1$ to breast cancer!
Happy Crafting and Thanks for your support!

I've met Mollie's mom and know she is a beautiful loving woman! Cancer sucks but the bravery and strength it brings out in women and families is an inspiring thing. Thank you Mollie for sharing your story and inspiring all of us. My sister in law found out she had breast cancer when she was pregnant with her 3rd child. She has been cancer free for 3 years. I will also make a donation of $1 for every comment made to this post. My hugs and prayers to all who LIVE and LOVE through this disease!!! Cathie
It is a bitter sweet thing for me to come and visit/comment on this post! Part of me is sad that women have to go through this... but so happy for Mollie's Mom and your sister in law for their survival... I am also super excited to see you link up with us at LUFP! And THANKS you BOTH for your generosity!
Hugs and prayers! ~Gaby
Hard post to read and comment on, On Christmas Eve Day my Mom found out she had breast cancer, she lived for 5 wonderful years after that day and lost the battle to oral cancer. She was a amazing women and not a day goes by that I do not think of her or miss her. I pray for all the women who are diagonised with this horrible disease and pray for a cure.
Amazing post today Mollie! I'm sorry your family had to go through such a tough situation, but happy that it turned out for your guys. My family has also been touched by cancer twice, and while it didn't turn out as we had hoped with the first person, my dad (the second person)is doing better than we ever could have hoped for and are so happy for every day we get with him :OD
Such an amazing and sad post. My Sister was diagnosed with Bone Cancer when she was 23 and sadly passed away at 29. Everyday I think about her and wonder if she was diagnosed now, would she be alive because of how far medicine has come. My SIL is currently a survivor and by far the strongest Woman I know! My prayers are going out to everyone that is going through this.

My mother died at the age of 32 years old.. I was only 10.. I pray for all of those that have had to lose someone you love... and those that are struggling to fight this battle..
This is a great cause that you are donating to for the comments.
My heart hurts to think of all the women out there struggling with this. Keep fighting! Together we will find a cure. God bless you all.
Such a small thing for such a big cause! Thanks for donating.
My paternal grandmother had breast cancer. My maternal grandmother and mother had cervical cancer and my maternal grandfather had lung cancer. I have had a hysterectomy and my sister will be having one next summer. This is a very ugly disease no matter what form it takes. There are many very strong survivors and great strides have been made in battling it but there is still so much more to be done. Thank you so much for your generosity.
My Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and lymphoma both at the same time. That was about 6 years ago. Throughout all the doctoring, chemo, hair loss, etc., she had the most positive outlook at all times. I truly believe that is why she came through this so well. Every checkup she has been to lately has been very good.
The cancer has not returned. I am so proud of my Mom and all that she endured!
Wonderful cause you are donating towards.

It is so heartwarming that the 2 of you are doing this. My Mom had a mastectomy back in 1985 in her 50s and thankfully is doing well at 81. Many do not share the same story. Prayers to all going through this terrible disease for strength and comfort.
your card is sooooo pretty.
Thank you so much for joining us for Link up for Pink.

My mother was the youngest child of a large family and honestly EVERYONE in her family had some form of cancer. It is rampant in our family, on her side. Mom had breast cancer which came back in the bone. We lost her in 1993. My sister had breast cancer also. There are 6 of us kids and 3 have had cancer of some sort so far. But they are all 3 survivors!
how sweet and wonderful that you are donating for such a great cause.
just wanted to leave you my daily comment but was referred here. what a great think you're doing and donating to "the cause." Awesome!
My mother-in-law smoked 2 packs of cigarettes a day and only had one mamogram in her life. She said "she didn't like it, it hurt too much" she was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 69 and passed away at 70. I remember crying on my daughters wedding day (her first grandaugther who she loved so dearly) wondering if she would have put up with being uncomfortable for a few minutes and maybe even given up the cigarettes if she could have had that day to watch my child walk down the isle. I think she would have. Every year when I get my mamogram and that machine squeezes down on me, I think of my future grandchildren and the fun I hope to have with them some day.
Thank you Mollie for sharing your story.
Thanks for joining Link Up for Pink....still time to enter another FAB PINK creation!

This is a cause very dear to my heart. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 after having my very first mammogram. I only went because my insurance company was offering $25 gift certificates for Target to women who had a mammogram. Sure I'll do it, I thought. I love to shop at Target. Next thing I knew my breast cancer journey began. After having both breasts removed and undergoing treatments and reconstruction surgery I'm on my way to survivorship. I hope this story will encourage every woman who reads it to go and have a mammogram. I thought I was safe because no one in my family had ever had breast cancer and I nursed five babies which is supposed to help protect from breast cancer. It happened to me and it can happen to you too. Thanks for the opportunity to share my story and for the wonderful cause you're supporting.
With HOPE and FAITH, Jeri

How generous of both you and Cathie to donate for such a worthy cause based on our comments. I feel very fortunate that I have so far lived a disease-free life. My sister-in-law was not so fortunate. After having had radiation and chemotherapy treatments for breast cancer, my SIL was in remission for a while. Several years later, cancer came back full force throughout her body. She was strong for a while until she couldn't be strong any longer. She would have been 55 the year she passed; not a long life. I hope all women are encouraged to care for themselves and their bodies. And I hope someday soon they find a cure for this horrible disease.--Pat N.
