I see Dots & Stripes......

To enter Holiday Challenge for a chance to win some fabulous Bo Bunny Paper CLICK HERE

Echo Park put out a Challenge on Facebook this week to create a project using some of their
Dots & Stripes Paper Collections.
Since I have been making some Home Decor items this week I thought I would post my project using the Christmas 6x6 Dots & Stripes Paper Pad
Here is a shot of the same project hanging on my front door.
Don't you love versatile crafts!
I used about 10 sheets out of the 24 double sided papers in this pack.
I also used the following Cricut Cartridges:
Winter Woodland
Christmas
Joys of the Season
The frames came from Roberts Arts & Crafts. I simply removed the glass from each frame to create a shadow box look and painted with Green Metallic paint (2 coats) and when dry I added Making Memories Sea foam glitter paint.
Some string pearls, a couple of mini candy canes and some ribbon for the finishing touches.
Here is a close up of  one letter box.

Emma's Design Team Call

Click{ HERE} for Design Time Thursday Holiday Challenge

Emma from My Creative Time recently posted her Design Team Call and I was so excited!
I love visiting her site and love using her stamp sets...so I immediately began working on a project to submit to her site.
I used the following supplies:
An 8x8 shadow box frame
Mom You Rock Stamp Set by Emma
Abbey Road Bo Bunny Collection Papers
(the giveaway for my Holiday Project Challenge)
Ribbon, String Pearls, Silk Flowers & Leaf
My Gypsy
Cricut Cartridge Sophie
I want to share a fun tip I used while putting this piece together.
I wanted to make sure the picture of my Mom & Grandmother didn't get lost among all of the stuff so I matted it on a piece of foam board covered in coordinating paper.  I inked the edges and mounted to the center of my doily cut from the Sophie Cart.
I also created my own trim fiber by braiding my string pearls in between two different colors of sheer ribbon.
I really love the effect and used this piece all the way around the photo.
My Mom is a huge butterfly fanatic.  She collected them when I was a kid so I made this piece to give her as a gift.
Her Birthday is on Halloween so I hope she and Emma both like it!!

Christmas Cards from Scraps?

DSCN1504
Some of you may remember a Talk Time Tuesday post from Carri that shared some tips for using up paper from our Scrap Collection.
Well…..I did just that this past week when I felt inspired by a  new patterned paper collection  and our Holiday Challenge.
DSCN1500
I pulled out all of my leftover RED cardstock and found some Christmas themed acrylic stamp sets and got to work.
DSCN1508DSCN1509DSCN1510
I started cutting the cardstock to make some common sized cards 3x3, 3.5 x 4.5 and I even had enough to make some 4x5 and 4.25 x 5.5 sized cards.
I used maybe a total of 3 pieces of patterned paper and one piece of paper that had images I turned into die cuts with a lot of fussy cutting.
You can see that I not only cleaned out a drawer from unused cardstock but I got a JUMP START on my Holiday Greetings.

Hope you like them!

Tip Tuesday Here at the CCR! Dew Drop Fun!

Click{ HERE} for Design Time Thursday Holiday Challenge
Happy Tuesday!

It's Christel from Scrappin' Sista with your Talk Time Tuesday Tip for the Creative Cutter Room.  Recently I posted a card for the Link Up to Pink Party hosted by Gaby, Celeste, and Yolie.  On that card, I featured some homemade dew drops.  I had a few people ask how they were created so I thought I'd share a short video tutorial for you.

They are extremely simple to make.  I hope you'll take a shot at it.  See you real soon.  Scrappy hugs!  And remember, I love you and there ain't NOTHING you can do about it!

Wedding Gift Idea

Click{ HERE} for Design Time Thursday Holiday Challenge
My friend Kristina got married this month and I wanted to use her beautiful announcement and
engagement picture to create her a Wedding Gift Keepsake.
The announcement had a black large black damask pattern that didn't work with the LUSH collection from My Mind's Eye: flocked red patterned paper I was using so I trimmed the pattern down and then used my
Perfect Layers Rulers (1/8" size) (click on product name to get a set of your own)
to trim coordinating cardstock layers around the announcement.
I LOVE how precise the lines turn out!
I then used my Cricut to cut an elegant frame around her picture and then had so much
fun dressing up the look.
I used my glue gun to secure the Prima Embellishment and button and then added half backed pearls.
I left a little room above and below announcement in case she wanted to add personal notes or memorabilia.
I finished by adding the shadow box frame from Roberts Arts & Crafts and then packed it up.
I know you can tell from her wedding colors that I just loved working on this project and can't wait to make something similar for my Family Christmas Picture this year.

Red, White & Black-are FANTASTIC colors.
Hope you like this Kristina!
also....
