Hi Ladies-I had a friend call this week and let me know she had trouble loading her CDS update to her computer. She went thru alot of heartache to finally resolve the problem with Cricut. I am posting some instructions here in the hopes that some of you will not have to spend hours trying to get your updates done. Thank you Joyce for calling attention to this problem your struggles will help others avoid the same issue.
Cricut Design Studio Update
If your firmware update is not working do the following:
1. Go to start
2. My computer
3. C drive
4. Program files
5. Cricut Software folder
6. Cricut Design Studio
7. Firmware releases
8. Click on the file Cricut_v2_34.enc , then right click and add an a after the 34. So your file should read Cricut_v2_34a.enc.
9. Then click on the file Cricut_v2_34b.enc, then right click and just delete the b. So your file should read Cricut_v2_34.enc.
10. Go to your design studio and do your firmware update.
11. When your firmware update is done and you turn on your Cricut it should say version 2.34.
My thanks to Jennifer Boyd from the South Jordan Roberts for getting the instructions together in such a concise easy to understand format. Hope this helps anyone having trouble with their Cricut Update. Happy Cutting!!!

Date Night
With six kids its not often that my Husband and I get to go out on a Date Night. This week one of my kids helped us have a Date Night to La Caille resteraunt. My daughter is taking a Food and Nutrition class at the Junior High and was able to get discount dinner reservations to La Caille for the three of us. This Etiquette Dinner is a fun way for the kids to practice all of the information they have been studying on table manners and table placement. I enjoyed getting dressed up for the occassion but I loved seeing my holey t-shirt wearing husband in a suit even better. I think he cleans up rather nicely. My daughter looked beautiful and much too grown up for my liking. The food was spectacular of course, but even more then the fancy meal I just enjoyed time with two of my favorite people. I also made some mental notes on a couple of home decor styles I want to try. You think my husband will mind if I paint faux bricks on the dining room walls???
October 23-25 Retreat
Thank you Ladies for a wonderful Retreat. I am going to have to dub this group the Worker Bees. When we added up all of the pages there were a couple of you around 20 pages completed this Retreat-AMAZING!! We also had our first digital scrapbooker attend-your pages were Fantastic Patty. Along with the Sandra Bullock movie marathon(who doesn't love Hocus Pocus & The Proposal); we had Jaime surprise us ALL with shall we say white fluffy stuff everywhere (no I don't mean SNOW). The sunset was incredible-the rain & sleet made us glad we were inside and the Sunshine Sunday morning made us appreciate the beautiful surroundings. We even enjoyed a very special visitor-the local deer population decided to trot right up to the road by the Inn. I enjoyed laughin' and scrappin' with all of you: Alease, Arnell, Barbara, Vicki, Patty, Grandma, Deanne, Colleen and Sara your amazing women and it was my pleasure to get to know you better.

Fall Fun at Four.....
My little four year old Kylee loved the Hay Maze & Pumpkin Patch done by Engh Gardens in Sandy. She picked up a little pumpkin and as I grabbed my camera said "This one's little like me". I tell you this was definitely an "Awww" moment. I just love this age-everything is so exciting & fun. I love that at four years old she takes time to figure STUFF out and then explain it to me. I rememer how excited she was this year to tell me that her Grandma was actually Dad's Mom. What a discovery! I'm so glad she clued me in. What would I do without my little helper making life so clear? I also love her enthusiasm for LIFE. When she finally made it to the end of the hay maze she jumped for joy shouting I Did It! Wouldn't life be so much easier if we could all share the things we have figured out with others??? Wouldn't it be a happier place if we could always share our Joys??? I can't wait to Scrapbook Kylee's Fall Fun!

Never too old to TP!
Here's what happens if you're the first to go to sleep (or just take a nap in this case) at one of our Retreats. Everyone decides your never too old to get TP'd. This time honored tradition of messing up the home or in this case scrap table of the offendee is captured here in this wonderful picture. Ladies I think this is soooo much better than the other option of Bra Freezing!!!! By far the best part is hearing everyone say "pass the toilet paper"whenever someone had a goopy mess to clean up-its so nice to share with friends (awww). Who says you can't recycle gently used toilet paper??? So as you can see another fun trip to Eureka. This weekends winner of our Acrylic Block Challenge Project was Angie-do you think she had some inside help from her little girl (Angie is 8 months along and was still willing to join us in some scrap fun). Thank you ladies for some Great Memories. You make each Retreat special & FUN!!!!!

This is the Card I made this Month for my Card Club. I used some watercolor pencils and a water brush to color in the stamped image. Makes a fast and easy way to watercolor. Inside the card it says: Just Flying by with a Halloween Hi! A simple card is always great when you have to make multiples. I am off to another Retreat this weekend-I will post some of this weekends projects & pages tomorrow.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month
I keep hearing the statistics about Breast Cancer & I tell you I am just BLOWN AWAY. The one most commonly heard is that every single person on the planet either has had breast cancer or knows someone that has had breast cancer. Oh my Gosh-this is just too many women!!!! So if YOU are a breast cancer Patient or Survivor my heart and prayers are with you. At this moment in time I have a sister in law and an Aunt that were diagnosed with breast cancer. My Sister in Law was only 36 and pregnant when she found out. The doctors had to deliver her baby boy early so she could begin treatment and this amazing women went thru treatment, kept working and raising her two older girls and cared for her newborn baby. My Aunt had a lumpectomy 10 years ago, and just this year during a routine mamography she found out the cancer was back & had to undergo a full mastectomy. I am just at awe at what a women can go thru & just how strong she can be when she is determined. My thoughts and prayers are with the hundrends & thousands of women out there trying to survive. It is with these ladies in mind that I created a design for this years Ladies Night Out event I am including a picture for any out there that may want to duplicate this card for their loved one. I know the lesson that I take away from these amazingly strong women battling this disease is HOPE. We must HOPE for a positive outcome, we must HOPE for a cure, we must HOPE our challenges and struggles will educate the next generation.
Halloween Explosion Box
Halloween Explosion Box that also works as a nested set of boxes. These fun boxes can be made for any holiday or special event and are so much fun to give as gifts.
