Perfect Paper Crafting Hop: Spring Hello Card

Welcome to our Perfect Paper Crafting Brand Ambassador blog hop.
It will start Monday, March 31 at 9:00 a.m. PST
and go through Friday, April 4 at Midnight PST.

This is the project I made using my Mini Perfect Layers rulers and Mini Mat

All of the Brand Ambassadors were given a set of these fantastic tools and asked to create a project.
My Project will begin by featuring the Mini Mat which I am completely in love with!!

The mat comes with some diagonal markings to create a 30 & 45 degree angles.
I used some of my So Happy Paper collection from Echo Park to make a few paper angels.
I then cut a piece of cardstock to 5 1/2 by 11 and cut slits lengthwise at 1" from each end.  Starting 1" down to the 6 1/2 marking on my paper trimmer.  I repeated this from the opposite side and then began scoring as pictured.  1", 2" & 5 1/2" in between cut lines and at 6" all the way across.

I then used my Perfect Layers Mini rulers to trim a piece of paper to fit on the largest square.  The mat helped me calculate taking 1/4" off each side to center perfectly.
I stamped, Copic Colored and fussy cut my image Boots Kiddo from Stampendous.

I added foam tape and adhered her to the center of a piece of patterned paper.
I then used this piece and my rulers to cut a 1/4" border all the way around.

It is so great to get nice crisp cuts even when working with this small an edge!
I then began to assemble my card.  I added some burlap trim to the base of the card...arranged my angled cuts until I found a look I liked.

Then I trimmed off the tips.

I stamped a sentiment I liked and then added some flowers and a four loop bow-tied with my Bow Maker.
Here is another look at the center step style card with all of the embellishments added.
I hope you like my card...it was so much fun to make.
I LOVE the size and convenience of

This is so cute!!! And now I really WANT that mini cutting mat! Thanks so much for showing how you cut the layer to fit onto the base rectangle. I knew there must be a way to use these tools to do that, but just didn't know how. I may never have to pull out that paper trimmer that doesn't actually cut straight again.
